Overview
Nickel City Motors is hiring a Motorsports Technician to join our growing service team in Thompson. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining recreational vehicles including ATVs, snowmobiles, and side-by-sides.
If you have strong mechanical skills and experience with small engines or powersports equipment, this is a high-demand, steady role with year-round work.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups, seasonal service)
- Service ATVs, snowmobiles, UTVs, and small engines
- Complete engine repairs, clutches, suspension, and driveline work
- Install accessories and performance upgrades
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
- Keep accurate service records and work orders
Requirements
- 2+ years mechanical experience (powersports, automotive, or small engine)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced shop
- Valid driver’s license
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Experience with BRP (Ski-Doo, Can-Am), Honda, Husqvarna, Stihl
- Red Seal certification (Automotive or Small Engine Technician)
- Experience with diagnostics software and EFI systems
- Welding or fabrication skills
